Nina was born July 21, 1934 in Montague Texas to John Henry and Nina Bell Morris Holland. Nina grew up with three brothers and five sisters on their family farm in Mallard, Texas. Nina was an all-around athlete and graduated from Forestburg High School in 1951. She learned to sew from her mother; which she enjoyed for years, making clothes for her children and grandchildren. She married Jack Henderson on June 18, 1951 and raised their family of four in the once little town of Buda, Texas. There she worked for the Buda ISD as a school secretary for many years. They then moved to DeSoto, Texas in 1970 where she also worked as a secretary for the Junior High School. Jack’s job called them back to Buda where they both retired and lived until 2000 when they built their present home on the family farm in Rosston, Texas. In her retirement years she enjoyed traveling, leading music at her church in Rosston, being involved in the Ross Point Community Center, and playing 42 as often as she could. Some of her best times were cooking and spending time with her family at all their many get togethers.
