Carol Ann Barnes Marler was born November 19, 1958 in Gainesville at the Old Sanitarium Hospital on Lindsay Street by Sharon Diann Barnes and Jerry Bruce Barnes. Raised up in an oil field family, her grandfather and father owned Barnes Brother Well Service. She has four siblings: Lynn Haverkamp, Jana Fisher, Kris Brown, and Paul Barnes. Carol was exposed to small business in cooke county all her life.
On June 14, 1978 Carol married a car salesman, James Everett Marler III. She raised three children who she was very proud of, Elizabeth Reyna, Erin Marler, and Jessica Marler. Carol loved going to garage and estate sales. She had a keen eye for bargains, especially antiques, dolls, and collectables. She was excellent at buying, but not so good at selling.
Carol had a passion for gardening, the outdoors, reading, and hours spent riding on her Massey-Ferguson diesel tractor accompanied by her poodle, Teddy. She has four grandchildren: Marley, Holden, Elijah, and Sawyer. She was a genuine, unique, and highly intelligent person who had a knack for connecting and understanding people she met. She will forever leave a loving impression on the people’s hearts she touched. Carol loved God and God loved Carol.
