Paul E. Emberton

Paul E. Emberton, 69, of Thackerville, OK, passed away November 12, 2017 in Gainesville, TX.

Paul was born August 24, 1948 in Fowler, KS to Sylas and Velma Hardaway Emberton. He attended schools in Kansas, graduating from Copeland High School. Mr. Emberton worked for Cooke County, primarily on road crews, for 22 years until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and sharing cook-outs with friends.

Survivors include: daughter Nikki Long and husband Sean of Pensacola, FL; daughter Makayla Hext and husband Anthony of Pickering, LA; son Brad Jackson and wife Christy of Satanta, KS; grandchildren: Morgan and Connor Long, and Sicely, Blake, Tallen, Trapper, and Dylan Jackson; sister Joyce Nichols of Mineola, KS; sister Velda Thomas and husband Richard of Dodge City, KS; brother Tom Emberton and wife Jo of Thackerville, OK; and a large extended family of an uncle, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Mr. Emberton was preceded in death by: his parents; brother Donald McBee; sister-in-law Lavonna McBee; and brother-in-law Kenneth Nichols.

A memorial service and time of remembrance is scheduled for 10:00 AM on Friday, November 24 at Thackerville Community Church of Christ in Thackerville, OK with Murray McMurray officiating. A committal service will then be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 25 at Fowler Cemetery in Fowler, KS, officiated by Chet Mendenhall.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charitable cause of one’s choosing.
