Ruth Reed Smith

Ruth Reed Smith, 93, of Gainesville, went to be with her Lord on January 6, 2018.

A memorial service will be held at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home with Dr. Eddie Chennault officiating. Please join family and friends as they celebrate a life well lived on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 2:30 PM.

Ruth was born on December 5, 1924 in Wilson, OK. to Henry Orville Reed and Cecil (Armstrong) Reed. She grew up on her parents farm and loved spending time outdoors. Ruth's life was greatly enriched through her many personal activities and relationships she had built over the years.

She is survived by her nephew Bill George and his wife Beth of Lone Grove, OK; several nieces, nephews, other family members, and a host of loving friends. She is also survived by her special friends that she considered family, Kaye Spencer and Rayedean Crittendon.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; brother Jack Reed; sister Lucille George; and her furry companion of thirteen years, Buddy.
