Naomi Austin

Services for Naomi Austin will be held Friday June 8, 11:00 AM at the Whaley United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery. Family visitation will be held at the funeral home from 6:30 to 8:00 PM Thursday evening. Mrs. Austin died on June 5, 2007.

She was born in Gainesville on April 20, 1929 to Starling and Winnie Embry. The family lived in Silvells Bend during her early years. Naomi married Vernon Austin on May 26, 1952 in Gainesville.

Her formative years were centered around those activities in ranch living in Silvells bend. She attended school in Silvells Bend and Gainesville. She graduated from Gainesville Jr. College, North Texas University and from Texas Women's University. She was a retired school teacher where she taught Homemaking for 36 years at Callisburg and Gainesville. She was recognized as an Outstanding Alumni by the Education Foundation in Gainesville.

She is survived by her husband, Vernon, brother and sister-in-law Theo & Helen Embry of Cleburne, Tex., aunt Cleo Cook of Andrews, Texas and several nieces and nephews and many friends.
