Alice Hay Carson

Services for Alice Hay Carson, 87, will be held Saturday June 9th, at 10:00 AM at St. Paul's Episcopal Church with Father Cecil James officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery. Family visitation will be Friday 7-8 PM at the funeral home.

She was born on October 1, 1919 to H. Church & Edith Sledd Hay. She died in Gainesville on June 4, 2007.

She married William H. Carson on March 22, 1951 in Gainesville.

She was a veteran on WWII, serving in the Women's Army Corps and was stationed in Australia and the Philippines assigned to Intelligence. Following the war, she lived and worked in New York City. She returned to Gainesville and opened 'Alice's in Wonderland", a children's clothing store. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and St. Paul's Episcopal Church.

She is survived by son William hay Carson of Austin, son and daughter-in-law James & Tami Carson of Austin, grandchildren Alison Kitt Carson, James Paul Carson, William Harold Carson, all of Austin.
