Mary Ellen Gibbs

Services will be held for Mary Ellen Gibbs at 2:00 PM Monday at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home in Gainesville. Visitation will be held noon to 2:00 prior to the service and again Monday evening at Foust & Son Funeral Home in Grapevine at 6-8 PM. An additional service will be held at the First Baptist Church in Colleyville 10:00 AM Tuesday. Burial will be at BlueBonnet Cemetery in Colleyville.

She was born to Ralph and Ella Phelps on December 13, 1927 in Alex Oklahoma. She died June 1, 2007 at the age of 80. She married Jack Branum Gibbs on June 21, 1947.

She was employed at Gainesville National Bank for 37 years retiring in 1991 as vice-president and loan review officer.

She is survived by her husband Jack of 60 years, her daughter and son-in-law Sherron & Gene Lanfear Jr. of San Antonio, daughter and son-in-law Jo Ella and Richard Barrett and their son Branum Lee Barrett of Colleyville, her sister-in-law Clara Sue Burleson Thornton and husband Jim of Sherman and several nieces and nephews.
