Gary Evans

Graveside services for Gary Evans, 55, of Garland are set for 11:00 AM, Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at the Fairview Cemetery with Bro. Arthur Green officiating.

The visitation will be held Tuesday, June 23, 2009 from 9:00 to 10:30 AM at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

Mr. Evans was born September 24, 1953 in Gainesville to Hubert (Red) and Avis Monkres Evans. He was a faithful member of the White Rock Community Church in Dallas. Gary loved music; he played the organ and piano beautifully. He was also blessed with the gift of learning sign language. With these gifts he loved to communicate music to the deaf.

He is survived by his sister and brother in law, Donna and Alan Ward of Irving; brother and sister in law, James and Diana Evans of Austin; his aunt and uncle, Billie and Willard Williams; aunt, Bobbie Cooke; a niece and her husband, Kelly and Danny Ripley of Grapevine; a niece and her husband, DeAnn and Barry Muth of San Antonio; a nephew and his wife, Andy and Stephanie Evans of Glastonbury, CT; nephew and his wife, Matt and Holly Evans of Austin; and 7 great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his life partner, Charlie Cravens.
