LINDSAY — Services for Albert Hoelker, 92, of Lindsay are set for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Saint Peter’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Ron Scheible, O.S.A. officiating. Burial will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery under the direction of Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.
Mr. Hoelker died Aug. 30, 2008 at the River Valley Health and Rehabilitation Center in Gainesville.
He was born Oct. 5, 1915 in Anton, Okla., to Casper and Theresa Weiss Hoelker.
He attended St. Mary’s School in Gainesville and was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army of the United States in the Pacific Theater. He was a co-owner of the Hoelker Grocery in Lindsay for 52 years. He was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Hughes-Tune Post in Gainesville.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law Steve and Sue Hoelker of Gainesville and daughter and son-in-law Sharon and Jack Ridinger of Lewisville, 7 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and a number of cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, by sons Kenneth Hoelker, in June 1968 and Jerry Warnick, by a grandson, 5 sisters and 4 brothers, including Ewald “turkey” Hoelker.
Pallbearers are David Baldvich, Walter Lutkenhaus, Chuck Bezner, Steve Metzler, Butch Hoelker and J. Quincy Ridinger.
The rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday at St. Peter’s Catholic Church.
