MARY STOFFELS

LINDSAY — Services for Mary Stoffels, 83, of Lindsay, are set for 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Peter’s Catholic Church with Rev. Ron Scheible, O.S.A., officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery under the direction of the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home of Gainesville.

Mrs. Stoffels died June 22, 2008, at Renaissance Care Center.

She was born Oct. 12, 1924, in Centralia, Okla., to Joseph and Mary Orth Fuhrmann. On Jan. 3, 1946, she married Henry N. Stoffels in Muenster. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Jack Sims of Spring, Sylvia and Richard Gigger of Houston, Marilyn and Alan Marquez of Thornton, Colo., and Margie and Mark Laster of Lindsay; sons and daughters-in-law, Gerald and Cathy Stoffels of Mansfield, La., David and Ginger Stoffels of Lindsay and Danny Stoffels of Lindsay; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Rev. Bruno Fuhrmann of Subiaco, Ark.; sisters, Anastasia Klein of Topeka, Kan., Agnes Gully of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Juliana Grewing of Muenster; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Stoffels on Nov. 25, 1989; one great-grandson; and brothers, Bro. Michael Fuhrmann, Oscar Fuhrmann and Joseph Fuhrmann.

Pallbearers are grandsons and nephews.

A family Rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. today at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home Chapel. A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at St. Peter’s Catholic Church.
