BOBBY GENE REEVES
Born on May 13, 1957 in Gainesville, Texas, Bobby was the youngest of Jimmy and Fayrene Edington Reeves seven children. He has fought a short, hard battle with cancer, but kept his happy spirit and smiled until the end. Bobby passed on September 27. He has gone to join his father, mother and brothers Harold Ray and Johnny Floyd in a place where he will feel no more pain.
He was raised in Odessa Texas. After 3 years in the Army he worked in Odessa for Ref-Chem., R&J Sand and Service, and the Ector County School District.
He later moved back to Gainesville where he resided in a little apartment he loved, on Dr. Lee and Lisa Uselton’s property. His favorite thing to do was to hang with his family and watch the kids, Dylan and Stevie Warren, Lindsey, Ty, Kelly and Dalton Uselton and his daughter Chelsea Danielle, play. He was their “HUNKA BOB”. In Gainesville, he was employed as a Vets Assistant to Dr. Lee Uselton, Lakeway Liquor, North Texas Medical Center and Winstar Casino in Surveillance.
Bob Never met a stranger; he always had a nice word and a smile for everyone. He loved going to the VFW and hanging with his buddies and having early morning coffee. He also carried the flag in the VFW Flag Group for may parades. He is leaving behind many cousins, friends and nieces and nephews who will have such an empty spot in their lives without his laughter but memories they can cherish forever.
Survivors inclide his son Joshua Paul, wife Bridgett, grand daughters Braxton and Sophia Reeves of Odessa, daughter Chelsea Danielle Reeves of Lake Whitney. Sisters Barbara “Honey” Reeves/Sparks of Gainesville, Valerie and Jimmy Hampton of Gorman, Jeanette and Jeff Covert of Odessa, and Janice and Malcom Campbell of Midland, Aunt Maxine and Uncle Glenn Sweet of Gainesville. Ramond and Kitty Reeves of Odessa, and Wanda Edington of Gainesville, and his best buddy Jim Hass of Odessa.
Services will be held at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Chapel in Gainesville with Pastor Hollis Parsons on Tuesday September 30, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. Family visitation will be at 7:00 p.m. Monday, September 29, 2008 at the funeral home.
