Victoria Louise Bengfort

Funeral Mass for Victoria Louise Bengfort will be held on June 4, 2009 at 10:00 a. m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Fr. Jim Pemberton officating under the direction of the Geo. J. Carroll and Son Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Fairview cemetery . Rosary will be held on Wednesday June 3, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. followed by visitation.

Victoria Louise Bengfort was called home on May 29, 2009. Louise was born on November 3,1921 in Gainesville to Emil and Annie Schindler Schurig. Louise graduated from Gainesville High school in 1938 and was crowned "Miss Gainesville of 1939".She spent a season as a showgirl at Casa Manana in Fort Worth as a prize of the Miss Gainesville contest.Choosing not to return with the touring company to New york ,she returned to Gainesville where she met and married Joe L. Bengfort of Lindsay in 1941.

Louise and Joe were blessed with three children ; Larry, born in 1942, Vicky in 1946 and Mike in 1953. She was a homemaker who took "Vacations" in the buisness world, working for various retail establishment in downtown Gainesville.She was a notable cook, following in the footsteps of her father, Emil who was chef at the Curtwood restaurant in Gainesville for many years. Louise enjoyed gardening,bird watching and crafts.After the death of Joe, Louise moved to the country, living on her familys farm. she lived on the farm until poor health forced her to return to city living.

Louise is survived by three children Larry Bengfort, Vicky McCrary and Mike Bengfort., also four grandchildren Anneliese Bengfort, Liliana Carter, Michelle McCrary and Mark McCrary. Four great great grandchildren Daiden and Chris Carter and Eli and Gabriel McCrary.
