Harold Neal Spragg

Services for Harold Neal Spragg, 52, of Gainesville are set for 9 a.m. Monday at Sonrise Church of Christ in Gainesville with David Sampson, Bill Jones and Gary Wright officiating. Burial will follow in Valley View Cemetery under the direction of the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home of Gainesville.

Mr. Spragg died July 23, 2008, at his residence.

He was born April 1, 1956, in Pittsburgh, Penn. His parents were Joyce and Bernard Horsley. On June 10, 1978, he married Laura Nichols in Fort Walton Beach, Fla. Harold was a graduate of David Lipscomb University and had a career in sales, most recently at the Bible Factory Outlet Store in Gainesville and the Room Store in Denton. He was an avid golfer and was a member of the “Good Ol’ Boys” Band. He was also the Song Leader for the Sonrise Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Laura Nichols Spragg of Gainesville; daughters and son-in-law, Valorie and Dean Champion of Gainesville and Meghan Archer of Gainesville; grandchildren, Dylan and Dawson Archer of Gainesville; parents, Joyce and Bernard Horsley of Gainesville; brother and sister-in-law, Thom and Stacy Spragg of Tennessee; sister and brother-in-law, Cyndi and Ken Gunselman of York, Neb.; parents-in-law, Claude and Mary Nichols of Gainesville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Karen and David Sampson of Washington, D.C., and Claudia and Glen Fink of Gainesville; three nieces; five nephews; and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Baird Spragg; and grandson, Cody Dean Champion.

Pallbearers are Mark Austin, Gary Cox, Mike Land, Ty Lawson, Bob Martinson, Gene Herzog, Dean Champion and Danny Martindale.

Honorary pallbearers are the Room Store Staff and members of the Sonrise Church of Christ.

Visitation will be at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Sonrise Church of Christ Building Fund; 1000 N. Radio Hill Road; Gainesville, TX 76240.
