Laura Carroll

No services are planned for Laura Jean (Kaps) Carroll, 78, of Gainesville.

Mrs. Carroll died Sept. 3, 2008 at Denton Regional Hospital.

She was born July 23, 1930 in Gainesville to Erwin and Eurella Gibson Kaps.

On Dec. 31, 1967, she married Ned Carroll in Clinton, Okla. She was a member of a Baptist Church and the Ladies Auxilliary of the Hughes-Tune Post, Veterans of Foreign Wars. She was a retired officer of the Gainesville Police Department.

Survivors include her son, Charles Carroll of Gainesville; step-children, Billie Carroll of Clover, S.C.; Ned Carroll and wife, Carrie of The Colony; Elaine Clifton and her husband, John of Estes Park, Colo; David Carroll and his wife, Kim of Gainesville; six grandchildren, numerous cousins, five nieces and four nephews; sister, Evelyn Kaps Walker of Gainesville; and brother, Dennie Pinson and his wife, Joann of Tampa, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ned Carroll; brother, Erwin Kaps; sister, Ouida Kaps Allen and by her parents, Erwin and Eurella Kaps.

Family and friends will gather at her home in Gainesville from 2 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 9.
