Orpha Davis

Services for Orpha Ray Davis, 88, of Gainesville are set for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Hollis Parsons officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Gainesville under the direction of Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

Mrs. David died Jan. 20, 2008 at North Texas Medical Center in Gainesville.

She was born Oct. 23, 1919 in Cooke County to John L. and Annie Ellison Evans. On May 28, 1969, she married Edward Henry Davis in Gainesville.

She was a homemaker and was employed as a waitress for a number of years at the Colonial Cafe.

She is survived by her friends Merlin “Shorty” and Lorene Wilson of Gainesville.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Pallbearers are Kenny Wilson, Donny Wilson, Dan Johnson, Doug Martin, Don Hawkins and Carl Wilson.

Visitation is planned for 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday.
