Services for Eddy Ray Raney, age 53, of Rosston died at his residence on May 7th. Services are set for 2:00 P.M. May 10, 2007 at Rosston Methodist Church and will be conducted by the Rev. David Dunson with burial following at the Rosston Cemetery. Family visitation will be at the Geo.J. Carroll Funeral home on Wednesday from 7-8 P.M.
Mr. Raney was born on September 17,1953 in Muenster, Texas to Forest and Angie Links Raney. He married Brenda Re-Na Holland of Gainesville in the Spring of 1974.
Eddy graduated from Era High School in 1971, and was a member of the Rosston Methodist Church In 1971, he commenced work with his older brothers in the gas pipeline industry. Eddy was employed by the Cooke County Precinct 3 for 10 years. From 1995 until February of 2007, he was employed by the W.B. Inglish Ranch of rosston. He enjoyed ranching and gardening and was an avid sports fan. He loved watching his grandson, Steven, play football and basketball. He was a loving, generous and loyal man. He will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
He is survived by his mother, Angie Raney of Rosston, his son and daughter-in-law Roy Lee and Paula Raney of Rosston and grandson, Steven Raney, 81 nieces and nephews. His siblings are his sister and her husband Dorothy and Harold Cook of Gainesville, Shirley Miller of mineola, Billie Ferrell of rosston, Evelyn and her husband Charlie Henderson of Stephenville, Sue LeGault and her husband Mark of Lakewood, California, brother Jim Raney and his wife Mary of Rosston, Cecil Raney and his wife Kay of Rosston, brother-in-law Nick Cochran of Hayward California.
He is preceded in death by his wife Brenda Raney, his father Forrest Raney, his brothers, Sam and Roy Raney and by his sister Helen Cochran.
