Ethel Olena Kirkpatrick

Services for Ethel Olena Kirkpatrick, 79, of Gainesville are pending with the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Isham, pastor of Vilott Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home of Gainesville.

Mrs. Kirkpatrick died Aug. 3, 2008, at Whitesboro Health & Rehabilitation Center.

She was born June 12, 1929, in Gasoline to Thomas L. and Mary Alice Phillips Shugart. She previously married Joe W. Kirkpatrick on Jan. 28, 1950, in Gainesville. Ethel Kirkpatrick had been employed as an Assembler at Weber Aircraft prior to her retirement.

Survivors include her daughter, Linda Kay Kirkpatrick of Whitesboro; son, Daniel Kirkpatrick of Gainesville; granddaughter, Marcy Lena Martinez; great-grandchildren, Faith Ing, Cheyenne Martinez, and Cruz Mejia; great-great-grandson, Daniel Keith Kirkpatrick; half-brother, Sam Shugart of Kennedale; one cousin; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and by her brothers, Clyde, Jack, Orlin and Kenneth Shugart.

Pallbearers are nephews, Donnie and Ronnie Shugart; Charles and Jack Kirkpatrick; and Doug and Rick Shugart.
