Mitzuko Armstrong

Funeral services for Mitzuko Miyazaki Armstrong,64, of Gainesville, will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Garry Way officiating. Burial will follow in the New Resthaven Cemetery.



Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.



Mitzi passed away at the Presbyterian Hospital in Denton at 1:00 PM on May 22, 2009.



She was born March 17, 1945 in Hakodate, Hokkaido, Japan to Choshilo and Take’ Miyazaki.



She married Carlton R. Armstrong in Tokyo, Japan in 1972. They then moved to North Carolina in March of 1973. Then they came to Gainesville in December of 1974 and had two daughters, Joann and Kathy.



Mitzi was employed as a fabric fitter at Weber Aircraft from August 11, 1977 until her retirement in 2006.



She was preceded in death by her parents and her two sisters.



She is survived by her daughters, Kathy Armstrong and Joann Thompson, and 4 grandchildren of Gainesville. She is also survived by three brothers, two sisters, 13 nieces and nephews, all of Japan.



Pallbearers will be Carlton Armstrong, Ronnie Armstrong, Kelly Le Fevre, Billy Bob Umstead, Delbert Hamilton, and Roy Massey.
