Funeral services for Norman Dale Shasteen, 79, of Gainesville, are set for Monday, January 19, 2009 at 2:00 P. M. at the Eastside Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Mark Jones, Pastor Larry Eberhart, and Rev. Hollis Parsons officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery.



“Our father went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, January 16, 2009. We Loved and respected our father dearly as he always taught us to be honest, work hard, love and respect others, love family, and above all love our Heavenly Father. Many will remember him as saying ‘ I Love you and Jesus loves you too.’”



Mr. Shasteen was born December 15, 1929, in Cooke County to Alvin and Ina Lillard Shasteen.



Survivors include daughters and sons in law Nancy and Nick Mosman of Gainesville, Rhonda and Eurshlee Moser of Gainesville, son Mark Shasteen of Gainesville, daughter in law Valerie Shasteen of Coppell, and their mother Janie Evelyn Shasteen of Gainesville. He is also survived by his grandchildren Craig and Ashley Mosman, Matthew and Emily Shasteen, Richard Moser, and Wendy Linnell, great grandchildren Brennan Linnell and Madison Moser. He is survived one sister: Martha Krebs of Gainesville, 4 brothers: Eugene Shasteen of Gainesville, Jim Shasteen of Gainesville, John Shasteen of Boswell, OK, and Wayne Shasteen of Ravenna.



Mr. Shasteen is preceded in death by his parents, his oldest son McKinley Dale Shasteen, and 2 brothers: Robert and Larry Shasteen.
