Funeral services for Tommie L. Johnson, 90, of Gainesville are set for 10 a.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Hubert Wright. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

Ms. Johnson died Sept. 28, 2008 at her residence.

She was born June 1, 1918 in Wilson, Oklahoma to George & Eula (Troupe) Frost.

Tommie was a homemaker and a caring mother. She was a sales clerk for many years at Chick's department store and was a favorite of all her customers. She was a devoted member of First Baptist Church, serving as a Girls Auxiliary leader, member of the order of the Eastern Star, a Sunday school teacher, and a training union teacher and was a member of the Lydia Sunday school class. Tommie was also a 20 year survivor of breast cancer.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law Lynn and Sharon Johnson; daughter and son-in-law Debbie and Frank Jones, 4 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and brother Elmo Frost.

Ms. Johnson is preceded in death by her parents George and Eula Frost, her husband David Johnson, her brothers Short and James J. Frost and her sister Eula Frost.

Pallbearers are Bob Bransford, Eric Johns, Steve Schmitz, Pat Shaunessey, Jack Frost, and Jimmy Sutton.

Visitation will be 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Susan G. Komen Foundation or Home Hospice of Cooke County.
