Memorial services for Russell “Buddy” Ansley, 76, of Mt. Vernon, Texas, are scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday, May 9. Services will be held at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home in Gainesville, Texas.
Mr. Ansley died Thursday, May 1, 2008 in Tyler, TX.
Russell Leon Ansley was born February 24, 1932, in Frederick, Okla., to the late Leo and Bessie Ansley. He had lived in Mt. Vernon for 9 years after retiring and moving from Dallas, Texas. He served proudly in the Marine Corps during the Korean War.
Survivors include his former wife, Nana Ansley of Denton, Texas; sons, Cary Ansley of Marietta, Okla., Barry Ansley of Temple, Texas, and Robert Ansley of Howe, Texas; brother, William “Boze” Ansley of Garland, Texas; sisters, Marjorie Jones of Dallas, Texas, and Phyllis Griffin of Denton, Texas; 5 grandchildren, Jason Ansley of Roanoke, Texas, Madeline and Erin Ansley of Howe, Texas, Natalie and Rachel Ansley of Temple, Texas; and 2 great-grandchildren, Christy and Kate Ansley of Fort Worth, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Research Institute; One Exchange Plaza; 55 Broadway, Suite 1802; New York, NY 10006.
Arrangements are by Geo. J. Carroll Funeral Home in Gainesville, Texas.
