Claudene Burdett

Interment for Claudene Burdett is set for 1 p.m. today at Lanes Chapel Cemetery in Valley Mills. Services are under the direction of the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

Mrs. Burdett died May 6, 2008, in Gainesville.

She was born Jan. 17, 1927, Valley Mills to Claude Henderson Turner and Jenny Olivia Outlaw Turner. She married Arvin “T” Burdett on Nov. 18, 1944. She was baptized and attended the Baptist church. Living much of her adult life in Enid, Okla., she was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Enid. She enjoyed doll collecting and arts and crafts; including crocheting, sewing, painting, and creating ceramics, creating porcelain dolls. She and husband, Arvin moved to Gainesville, where they have resided for three years.

She is survived by husband, Arvin of Gainesville; son, Kent of Pawnee, Okla.; son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Susan Burdett of Gainesville; son-in-law, Jim Goldsberry of Choctaw, Okla.; sister and brother-in-law, Patti and Dennis Neel of Arlington; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; one sister; and two daughters, Katha and Karen.
