LEONARD HACKER

Services for Leonard Hacker, 60, of Gainesville are set for 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church officiated by Fr. Jim Pemberton.

Burial will follow in New Resthaven Cemetery under the direction of the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

Mr. Hacker died Sept. 30, 2008 at Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth.

He was born June 10, 1948 in Gainesville to Martin and Lucy Prescher Hacker.

On Dec. 7, 1987, he married Priscilla Medlock in Gainesville.

He was a graduate of Valley View High School and was a life-long member of St. John’s Parish in Valley View. He served in the United States Army during the Viet Nam War and following his military service, was a dairy farmer for a number of years prior to his employment at Wal-Mart.

Survivors include his wife, Priscilla Hacker of Gainesville; step-daughter and her husband, Carla and James Thornton of Joplin; step-sons, Gary Medlock of Sherman and James Simpson; sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Larry Sandmann of Whitesboro and brother, Wallace Hacker, of Gainesville.

He was preceded in death by his father, Martin Hacker on June 15, 2008; by his mother, Lucy Oehler on April 30, 2003, by his son, Jason Hacker on March 11, 2002 and by his brother, Glenn Hacker on Dec. 22, 1971.

Pallbearers are Lance and Rick Sandmann, Fred Wright, James Thornton, Herbie Hacker and Johnny Luttmer.

Visitation is planned for 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.
