Lucia Yvonne Young

Lucia Yvonne Brown Young, 89, of Gainesville, Texas went to be with the Lord on February 12, 2009 at Pecan Tree Nursing Home. She was born to Lillian and Phalcona Brown in Lucy, New Mexico on May 7, 1919. She served the Lord until till the day she passed.

She was a loving wife, mom, grandmother, friend and home maker. She was a charter member and financial officer of Crossroads Baptist Church (formerly Fair Avenue Baptist Church). She sold Stanley Home Products for at least 25 years. She retired from Webber Aircraft and worked for Gainesville School District.

She is preceded in death by her husband Ben Young, daughter and son-in-law Barbara and David Wishard, son Bobby Young, sisters Edna Hoover and Geraldine Gaines. She is survived by daughters Bennie (Rodgers) Old, Shirley (Tony) Sims and Carolyn (Larry) Amaroso. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 33 great-grand children and 3 great-great grand children.

The pallbearers are her 10 grandsons.

The services will be held at Crossroads Baptist Church, 2201 W. California in Gainesville on Monday, February 16, 2009 at 2:00 PM. Family visitation will be held at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home on Lindsay St. Sunday, February 15, 2009 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. The internment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery.
