Graveside services for Gerald Troop, 84, of Gainesville, are set for Monday, August 31, 2009 at 10:00 am at the Valley View Cemetery with the Rev. Don Yeager officiating. No visitation is planned.

Gerald was born to Alvin and Ruth Hobbs Troop October 31, 1924 in Wilson, OK. Mr Troop passed away August 28, 2009 in Denton.

He is survived by a wife Jean Troop of Gainesville, son Scott Troop of Gainesville, son and daughter-in-law Greg and Diane Troop of Galveston, sister Jimmie Carroll of Dallas and two granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by is parents.
