Bobby Ray Hughes, 50, of Era, went to be with the Lord on February 8, 2009 at his residence. Funeral services are set for Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at 3 p.m., at the Christian Gathering Church in Valley View, burial will follow at the Era Cemetery. A visitation will be held Tuesday February 10 from 7:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Geo. J. Carroll and Son Funeral Home.
He was born September 22, 1958 in Fort Worth. Bobby was married to Sherri Gale Kaylor Hughes.
Bobby enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson and spending time with family. God and family were always put first in his life. Bobby was not much of a talker, but when he did say something, it was worth hearing. He was employeed at Plano Machine as a machinist.
Survivors include his wife Sherri Gale Hughes of Era, father Robert Hughes of Era, mother Carol Lee of Gainesville, daughter and son-in-law Kasey and Derek Murrell of Gainesville, son Daniel Barker of Era, daughter and son-in-law Amanda Barker and Adam Cook of Gainesville, daughter Brandy Hughes of Era, grandson Devin Ray Murrell; sisters Marlinda Wright, Debra Smith, and Charlotte Freeman; brothers Gary Holland, Curtis Holland, brothers-in-law, Robert Kaylor, Jr., and Brett Kaylor; and many adopted children he thought of as his own.
He was preceded in death by his sister Brenda Raney, grandson Reese Kaylor Murrell, mother-in-law Bobbie Jack Hughes, and father-in-law Robert Wayne Kaylor, Sr.
