Services for Jimmie L, McAfee, 87, of Woodbine will be held on Friday February 13, 2009 at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Chapel followed by burial at the Sharrock Cemetery at Walnut Bend.
Mrs. McAfee died on February 10, 2009 at the Pecan Tree Manor in Gainesville. She was born on December 5, 1921 in Walnut Bend to Doc and Bessie Lambert. She married W.L. “Cotton” McAfee on June 26, 1951 in Vernon, Texas. She worked at Weber Aircraft for many years. She loved fishing, gardening, spending time with those she loved most, her family. She was devoted to her three children and was a positive influence on the lives of her grandchildren. Jimmie never met a stranger and never turned anyone down who was in need. Her love was never ending for her husband of 57 years and her children. She was known to have the roar of a lion yet be as gentle as a lamb.
She is survived by her husband Cotton McAfee; daughter and son-in-law Dinah and Mark Wark of Walnut Bend; sons and daughters-in-laws Ricky and Suzette McAfee of Woodbine, Jerry and Kathy Wilson of Oklahoma; her grandchildren Justin Nottingham of Muskgee, Okla., Tambria Cantrell of Lone Oake, Okla., Melinda Wilson of Walnut Bend, Josh Ward of Gainesville, Alice and Amy Hamman, Chris McAfee, Brandon McAfee, Tonya Fuller, Darvin McAfee, Develda Birkert, Carol Reynolds, Tonya Munn, Bo, Brad, Jr., and Brian Wilson.; 28 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Doc & Bessie Lambert, her siblings; sister Velma Jones, brothers Opal Lambert, Othel Lambert, Sharkey Lambert, and Billy Lambert; great grandchildren Ty Nottingham, Stephen Wilson, and Billy Reynolds.
Pall bearers were Alex Cantrell, Lane Cantrell, Chris McAfee, Brandon McAfee, Darvin McAfee, and Mark Ward.
The family expressed their appreciation to the loving staff at Pecan Tree Manor and Solaris Health Care workers.
