Lois Baker

December 19, 1926 — March 12, 2009

Funeral services for Lois Davis Baker, 82, of Gainesville, are set for 10 a.m. Saturday, March 14, 2009 at the Whaley United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Goodwin officiating.

Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Geo. J. Carroll and Son Funeral Home.

Mrs. Baker passed away Thursday, March 12, 2009 in Gainesville.

Lois Baker was born Dec. 19, 1926 in Gainesville to Archie Edgar and Leona Barton Davis.

Mrs. Baker married Joseph Robert Baker on July 2, 1948 in Gainesville. She was a rural mail carrier with the U.S. Postal Service for 18 years, retiring in 1989. She has been a member of Whaley United Methodist Church for 56 years.

Lois is survived by her husband, Joseph Robert Baker of Gainesville; son and daughter-in-law, Lanny and Patricia Baker of Houston; daughter and son-in-law, Jana and Allen Hodge of Hobbs, N.M.; daughter, Shannon White of Gainesville; granddaughter, Chelsey Hodge of Denton; grandson, Zachary White of Gainesville; sister, Martha Davis of Gainesville and brother, Robert Davis of Mountain View, Ariz.

Pallbearers are Scott Davis, Claude Tamplin, Delton Winters, Terry Hutchison, Larry Brandon, and Paul Kiesel.

A visitation will be held at 7 p.m. this evening, March 13, 2009 at the Geo. J. Carroll and Son Funeral Home.
