Funeral Services for Bill H. Johnson, 75, of Gainesville are set for 2 p.m. on Monday, March 23, 2009 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Chapel with Brother Ken Whitt officiating. Burial will follow in Valley View Cemetery. Mr. Johnson died Friday, March 20, 2009 at his residence.
Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife Lou Johnson of Gainesville; daughters Carol Moody of Dallas, Jan Sumner of Corinth, Quyen Johnson of Gainesville; sons Bryan Johnson of Denton, Johnny Johnson of Corinth; step son Charlie Coley, Jr. of Sherman; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister Wilma Wilburn; brothers David and Phil Johnson; and numerous aunts and uncles.
Mr. Johnson was the youngest fire fighter to acheive the rank of captain in the Dallas F.D. He had a loving passion for horses and horse racing. He thouroughly enjoyed playing cards, fishing, and hunting. He achieved the honorable status of a 32nd Degree Mason.
