Alma Lillian Barnes

Funeral services for Alma Lillian Barnes, 93, of Gainesville, are set for 2:00 PM Monday, November 23, 2009 at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. J. Ray Smith and Rev. Duke Dowling officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview cemetery. A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 22, 2009 from 7:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Alma passed away Friday, November 20, 2009 at North Texas Medical Center.

Alma Lillian Barnes was born in Sherman on September 8, 1916 to Julius Cowan and Alice Grace Hall Stone.

She is survived by her daughter and son in law Barbara and Kenneth Roberts of Wimberley, daughters Joyce Price and Lavelle Ellison of Gainesville, son and daughter in law Larry and Joan Grammer of Gainesville and daughter Alice Springer of Quinlan. She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren, thirty-six great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.

Alma is preceded in death by her parents, her huband Jess, her sisters Louise Raines and Lavelle Romaine, and her granddaughter Kimberly Meador.

Pallbearers will be Hal Watson, Trenton Swank, Shawn Watson, Jacob Lavato, Jordan Griffin and William Griffin. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry L. Grammer Sr., Larry Meador, Justin Wilhoit, Larry L. Grammer II and Jason Lee.
