Sybil Jane Mcaden

Funeral services for Sybil Jane Davidson McAden, 92, of Bridgeport, are set for 2:00 PM Friday, October 23, 2009 at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jordan Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Gordonville Cemetery. A visitation will be held Thursday, October 22, 2009 from 7:00 to 8:00 PM and on Friday at 1:00 PM at the funeral home.

Ms. McAden passed away Monday, October 19, 2009 in Bridgeport.

She was born to Frances Hugh and Mary E. Johnson Davidson in Willis, OK, on February 15, 1917, the third of five children. They returned to Texas by the time she was two years old and she considers herself a Texan.

She married Harold William McAden on October 12, 1935. She was employed by Linda Jo Shoe Factory and Weber Aircraft for many years. She was an officer and color bearer for the Elm Creek Rebekah Lodge No. 6. She was an avid gardener, fantastic southern cook, storyteller, listener, and humorist. Most of all, she was a friend. We were all truly blessed to have her in our lives.

She is survived by her son and daughter in law Jerry and Dorothy McAden of Tempe, AZ, daughter and son in law Marybeth and Millard Thomas of Denton, son Harold Wayne McAden of Bridgeport, son and daughter in law Robert and Betty McAden of Colorado Springs, CO, daughter Patsy McAden of Decatur and daughter Brenda Lou McAden Aguilar of Denton. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, her sister Christine Franklin of Richardson, and her brother Joe Davidson of Ardmore, OK.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Hugh Davidson and her sister Kitty Meeks.
