Melvin Enke

Graveside services for Melvin Enke, 86, of Gainesville are set for Tuesday Jan. 13, 2009 at 10 a.m. at the Collinsville Cemetery under the direction of the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

Mr. Enke passed away on Jan. 9, 2009.

Melvin was born on Feb. 23, 1922 in Mt. Vernon Mo. He served in the U. S. Army during W. II in France, in a tank platoon He was awarded a Purple Heart .for his heroics and upon the completion of his service he returned home to marry his sweetheart Oma. Melvin had many careers including landscaping and security work.

Survivors include his wife, Oma; adopted daughter, Mary Salisbury of Gainesville; adopted granddaughter Carrie Krahl of Gainesville; numerous cousins; sister-in-law and brother-in- law.
