Elmo Self

Funeral Mass for Elmo Self, 77, of Gainesville, are set for 10:00 am Thursday December 9, 2010 at St. Marys Catholic Church with the Rev. Jim Pemberton officiating. A rosary will be held at 6:00 pm Wednesday December 8, 2010 at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

Elmo was born on September 29, 1933 in Madill, OK to Virgil and Edith Reid Self. He passed away December 6, 2010 in Gainesville. Elmo served in the US Army. He was a program director for the Boy's Club for eight years and a volunteer Chaplains assistant at the State School for boys. He was active in the ACTS program as a core leader. Sir Knight Elmo was a fourth degree member of the Lee Wolf assembly #2720 of the Knights of Columbus Counsel #1167.

He is survived by his wife Victoria Krahl Schniederjan Self of Gainesville, daughter and son in law April and Larry Ballou of Gainesville, son and daughter in law Robert and Cora self of Gainesville, son and daughter in law Tommy and Barbara Self of Gainesville, son and daughter in law Pat and Karen Schniederjan of Grand Junction, CO, daughter and son in law Carolyn and Ted Rekerdres of Dallas, son Mike Schiederjan of FT Worth, son and daughter in law Robert and Jay Anne Schniederjan of Oklahoma City, OK, daughter Valery Smith of Gainesville, daughter and son in law Cindy and Jon Grosch of Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, daughter and son in law Helen and Charlie Allison of Richardson, son and daughter in law Adam and Renee Schniederjan of Muenster, son and daughter in law Phillip and Tania Schniederjan of Trophy Club, son and daughter in law John and Caryn Schniederjan of Plano, daughter and son in law Clair and David Holland of Racine, WI, 33 grandchildren and 11 great granchildren. He is also survived by his brother and sister n law Billy and Nita Self of Madill, OK, sister and brother in law Carrie and Tom Frank of Madill, OK, and brother and sister in law Horace and Norma Self of Little Elm.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Virgil Self Jr.
