Lula Christine (Chris) Hughes

Services for Christine Hughes,85, of Rosston will be held on Tuesday, August 21st, at 10:00 AM at the Rosston Methodist Church. The Rev. David Dunson will be officiating with burial to follow at the Rosston Cemetery. Family visitation will be held Monday evening from 6-7 P.M. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hughes died on August 18th at the Muenster Hospital after a long illness. She was born on December 25, 1921 in Idalou, Texas to Thomas Rex and Vena Christian Settle. She married Stewart Anderson Hughes on June 2, 1951 in Ft. Worth, Texas. She attended school at Ross Point, Gainesville High School, and North Texas State College. She and her beloved husband lived in several areas of the U.S. and overseas during his career with the Air Force.

She is survived by her husband Stewart, son & daughter-in-law Thomas A. & Eileen Hughes of South Bend, Indiana, grandchildren Maureen, Michael, and Catherine Hughes, all of South Bend, and her sister Helen Haines of Rosston.

She is preceded in death by her parents, aunts, uncles, and nephews of the Hillary Christian and Settle families.
