Arthur Wayne Lawson

Graveside service for Arthur Wayne Lawson, 73, of Gainesville are set for Friday July 23, 2010 at 10 am in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Geo J Carroll & Son Funeral Home with David Gray officiating. Wayne went to be with the Lord Tuesday July 20, 2010 at his Gainesville home.

Wayne was born to James and Minnie Durham Lawson on July 31, 1936 in Denton County Texas. He married June Rose on July 18, 1969. He graduated from Denton High School and served in the Army stationed in Germany. He was a master plumber and owned and operated his own plumbing Company until he sold his company and went to work for the University of North Texas. He retired from the University of North Texas in 2003. He was an accomplished musician and loved to play his guitar and has a beautiful voice.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 41 years: June Lawson of Gainesville; Daughters Kathy and her husband Jimmy Smith of Rhome, Karen Frankson of Lake Dallas; Grandsons: Alan Thomas of Rhome, Robert Lawson of Ft. Sill, OK, and Jerry Frankson, Jr. of Little Elm; Granddaughter: Heather Lucy of Lewisville; Great-grandson: A.J. Lawson of Georgetown; Sisters: Helen Dane of Pilot Point, Louise Carroll and Hettie Hooten of Aubrey, Viola Daniel of Van; Brother - in - law: Joe Rose of Hobbs, New Mexico; and many nieces and nephews.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents: James and Minnie Lawson; and Son: Robert Wayne Lawson.
