Ida Gandillon

Services for Ida Mae Gandillon, 95, of Gainesville are set for 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2008, at First Christian Church with the Rev. Mark Loewen officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery under the direction of the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home of Gainesville.

Mrs. Gandillon died March 29, 2008, at Renaissance Care Center in Gainesville.

She was born Sept. 30, 1912 in San Antonio. Ida Mae Gandillon was a homemaker and a long-time member of the First Christian Church. In 1915, she was adopted and reared by I.P. and Maude Grundy of Era.

Survivors include her niece, Martha Beard of Denton; great-niece, Karol Strange of Denton; great-nephew, Randy Beard and his wife, Melanie of Era; great-great-nieces, Patti Brown and her husband, Terry of Whitesboro and Stacey Mollenhour and her husband, James of Pilot Point; great-great-nephews, Joseph Beard and his wife, Janice of Palm Coast, Fla., and Kevin Beard and his wife, Stephanie of Era; great-great-great nieces and nephews, Ashley, Crystal and Raychelle Colwell of Whitesboro, Brianna and Brett Beck of Pilot Point, Bryce Mollenhour of Pilot Point, and Alexis and Cameron Beard of Era; and sisters, Lena Pickney and her husband, Bob of Houston, Jeannette Akin of Stockdale and Banksie Bryan and her husband, Jim of Huntsville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis C. “Buddy” Gandillon; and by a sister, Louise Anderson.

Pallbearers will be Elders of the First Christian Church.

Visitation is planned for 6 to 8 p.m. today at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.
