Charlie Skinner

Services for Charlie Skinner, 69, of Gainesville are set for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Woodbine Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Nelson Grove Cemetery under the direction of the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home of Gainesville.

Mr. Skinner died June 9, 2007, in Gainesville.

He was born July 1, 1937, in Callisburg to Chafe and Mary Skinner. On March 1, 1960, he married Billie Sue Bruce.

Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy and Joe Barone of Memphis, Tenn., Tonya and Jimmy Sandoval of Woodbine, and Brandy Skinner; sons and daughter-in-law, David and Sharon Skinner of Woodbine, Daryl “Rip” Skinner of Gainesville and Josh Skinner of Woodbine; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Babe and Jimmy Ray Skinner; sister, Laverne Archey; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Sue Skinner on Nov. 5, 1987; brothers, William Ray and Tommy Skinner; and sister, Glenda Hutson.

Visitation will be at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday.
