“Hermie” Eberhart married Katie Jones nearly 60 years ago, January 6, 1948, in Muenster.
He is survived by his wife, his only son, Pastor Larry Joe Eberhart of Gainesville; his daughter-in-law, Kathy Jo Eberhart; his grandchildren, Tammy and Gary Starr of Graham and Jamey and Tonya Bryant of St. Jo; his great grandchildren, Kayleigh Starr of Gainesville, Trey and Ramey Mae Starr of Graham, and Lenzie, Kenzie and Clayton Bryant of St. Jo; his sisters, Mrs. Alvera Flusche of Lindsey, Mrs. R. L. (Dorothy) Smith of Gainesville, Mrs. Julius (Isabel) Stelzer of Post, Mrs. Eddie (Margie) Krahl of Muenster. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Minnie Eberhart, his brother, Bill Eberhart, and sister, Madella Eberhart.
Born at his parents' home in Muenster, he lived in that area all his life. Hermie farmed 21 years, from 1948-69, then worked in the oilfields for Sohio until his retirement. In his later years, he was pumper, gang pusher and then foreman until his retirement. Then he and his wife, Katie, drove school buses in Muenster for ten years.
Many area residents will recall Hermie and Katie riding through the country in their little red pickup. For many years now, the couple enjoyed riding through the country, counting deer throughout the area from Muenster to Marysville.
Hermie was a member of Family Life Church, where his son is pastor. He died Wednesday, November 7. 2007, at Harris Hospital, Fort Worth.
