Graveside services for Modelle Atkins, 92, of Gainesville are set for 10:00 AM Monday, June 8, 2009 at the Fairview Cemetery with Rev. Hollis Parsons officiating.



A visitation will be held Sunday from 7:00 to 8:00 PM at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.



Ms. Atkins passed away Friday, June 5, 2009 in Gainesville.



Modelle Atkins was born May 15, 1917 in Bonita, TX to Samuel Sylvanus and Laura Dale Buck Baker. She was a generous supporter of various charities including the Gainesville Shrine Club and the Children’s Shriners Hospital. She gave an endowment to the North Central Texas College. She was of the Christian Faith.



She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Jerry and Cindy Dutton of Gainesville, her daughter and son in law Lujuana and Johnny Crawford of Callisburg. She also is survived by 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren.



She was preceded in death by her husband D. W. Atkins, her parents, 4 brothers and 1 sister.
