Margaret McLean Culp Russell, 82, of Gainesville, died October 30, 2007, at St. Richard's Villa, in Muenster. She was born March 30, 1926, in Gainesville. She was the daughter of Grady H. and Bess McLean Culp.
On August 10, 1946, she married William Allen Russell, in a lovely, informal ceremony in front of the fireplace at her family's home, south of Gainesville. Russ and Margaret were blessed with three children, Randolph McLean, Walter Aden and Lorna Elizabeth. She attended schools in Gainesville and attended Texas Christian University for two years and elected to quit school in order to take flying lessons, earning her pilot's license in 1943. In 1970, Margaret received her Associate's Degree in nursing and became a Registered Nurse.
Survivors include her son, Randy Russell of Alaska; her son and daughter-in-law, Lorna Russell and Bill George of Paris. Her grandchildren are Ross Russell of Rosston; Kaliska Russell of Denton; and Zoe McLean Russell of Gainesville. Also surviving are her sister and brother-in-law, Lorna and Travis Budlong of Austin. She was preceded in death by her mother, Bess M. Culp, on 11-1-62; by her father, Grady H. Culp, on 4-29-64; and by her husband, William Allen Russell, on 6-12-98. No services are planned.
