RAYMOND J. TEMPEL



A funeral mass for Raymond J. Tempel, 87, of Gainesville, will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, June 26, 2010 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Muenster with Fr. Ken Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. A rosary will be held at 7:00 PM Friday, June 25, 2010 at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.



Mr. Tempel died Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at the Presbyterian Hospital in Denton.



Ray was born October 27, 1922 in Muenster to Luke and Cecelia Markowitz Tempel. He was a Sergeant in the US Army from 1942 to 1946. He retired from the United States Postal Service in 1987.



Mr. Tempel is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Pat Walterscheid of Muenster, son and daughter-in-law Stan and Cynthia Tempel of Gainesville, son and daughter-in-law Jim and Benita Eberhart of Corinth, son and daughter-in-law Red and Mary Eberhart of Mountain Springs, son Stan Eberhart of Denton, son and daughter-in-law Tom and Patty Eberhart of Lindsay, son and daughter-in-law Robert and Starr Eberhart of Denton, son and daughter-in-law Steve and Susan Eberhart of Dallas, 20 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.



Ray is preceded in death by his parents, his sister RoseMary Tempel, brother Joe Tempel, and sister-in-law Anna Margaret Tempel.



Pallbearers are Justin Tempel, Brent Gill, Bill Eberhart, Toby Eberhart, John Tempel, and Jeff Tempel.
