Richard Anthony Hellinger

Funeral Mass for Richard Anthony Hellinger, 74, of Gainesville are set for Thursday August 5, 2010 at 10 am at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Lindsay with Rev Raymond McDaniel officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peters Cemetery under the direction of Geo J Carroll & Son Funeral Home in Gainesville. Mr. Hellinger died Monday August 2, 2010 at Pecan Tree Rehabiliation and Health Care Center in Gainesville.

Richard was born June 2, 1936 in Gainesville to Josephine Hellinger Fleitman. He married Mary Hellinger in Gainesville on May 5, 1951. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and was a giving person. Richard served his country in the Army during the Korean conflict.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years Mary Hellinger of Gainesville; his daughter: Sylvia and her husband Brian Herr of Muenster; sisters: Christene Fleitman of Muenster, Helen Prescher of Gainesville, Anna Skinner of Muenster, Pauline and her husband Jimmy Prescher of Valley View, and Betty Gilpin of Gainesville; and brothers: Gus and his wife Paula Fleitman of Muenster, Ben Jr. and his wife Carol Fleitman of Myra, Kenny and his wife Susan Fleitman of Lindsay, and Charlie and his wife Beverly Fleitman of Gainesville.

Richard was preceded in death by his mother: Josephine Hellinger Fleitman.

Pallbearers will be: Gus Fleitman, Ben Fleitman Jr., Kenny Fleitman, Charlie Fleitman, Bart Prescher, and Lee Skinner.

A Rosary will be held Wednesday August 4, 2010 at the funeral home from 6 to 7 pm.
