Martin Lewis Miller

Martin Lewis Miller, 81, of Era went to be with the Lord Monday April 19, 2010 at North Texas Medical Center in Gainesville. Martin was born December 20, 1928 to Toney and Rachel Martin Miller in Denton County. He married Louise Parsons on May 25, 1952 in Denton, Texas. Martin was an avided farmer. He earned a Lone Star Farmer Degree in 1945 and 1946; American Farmer Degree on October 11, 1948; and a three day trip to the National FFA Convention in Kansas City, MO.

Martin is survived by his wife of 57 years Louise Miller of Era; daughter and son - in - law: Janet and Tommy Smith of Era; son and daughter - in - law: Randy and Brenda Miller of Era; son and daughter - in - law: Ronny and Kim Miller of Era; son: Ricky Miller of Era; sister and brother - in - law: Pat and Bud Ford of Rosston; and six granddaughters, four grandsons, and four great-grand daughters.


Martin is preceded in death by his parents: Toney and Rachel Martin Miller, brother: Lawrence Miller; and sisters: Ethelda Yeats and Elnora Smith.

Funeral services have been set for Wednesday April 21, 2010 at 10 a.m. at First Baptist church in Era with the Pastor Mike Burnett officiating. Burial will follow, under the direction of Geo J Carroll & Son Funeral Home, in Valley View Cemetery. Family visitation will be Tuesday April 20, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
