Funeral services for Raymond Joseph Sicking, 86, of Gainesville are set for Wednesday June 9, 2010 at 2 P.M. at First Baptist Church with Rev Hubert Wright Officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Geo J, Carroll and Son Funeral home. Raymond passed away Monday June 7, 2010 at the Renaissance Nursing Home.
Raymond was born May 13, 1924 in Myra Texas to William and Mary O'Conner Sicking. Mr. Sicking lived his whole life on a farm between Lindsay and Myra. He was a retired dairyman, rancher, and an avid gardener. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gainesville and was known throughout the church for calling members on their birthday to play "Happy Birthday" for them on his guitar.
He is survived by his children: Bob and wife Mary Sicking of Myra; Sandy and her husband Larry Knabe of Gainesville, Pat and husband Arnie Zimmerer of Lindsay; Linda and husband Roger Hundt of Carrollton; and Elaine and husband Larry Zimmerer of Lindsay; step-children: James, Ronnie, and David Burgamy; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents: William and Mary Sicking; wife: Mable sicking; brothers: Johnny SIcking, Lawerence Sicking, Alfred Sicking, and Emmit Sicking; sister: Bernadine Mosman; step-sons: Gerald Burgamy, and Kenny Burgamy.
Pallbearers will be: Isaac Zimmerer, Jeff Sicking, Justin Sicking, Corey Sicking, Keith Zimmerer, and Kenneth Sicking.
A visitation is set for Tuesday June 8, 2010 from 6 to 7 P.M. at the funeral home. The family request memorial contributions be made to the Joy Singers Choir of the First Baptist Church. You may sign the on line registry at www.geojcarroll.com
