"Ironhead" Earnest Dwayne Garner

Memorial Services for "Ironhead" Earnest Dwayne Garner, of Collinsville, are set for 10:00 am Saturday, December 4, 2010 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Davis officiating. A visitation will be held at the funeral home Friday December 3, 2010 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm.

Ironhead was born on November 23, 1932 in Circle Back to Earnest Elmer and Ruby Damron Garner. He passed away at his residence on November 30, 2010

Dwayne loved to hunt and fish. He graduated Gainesville High School in 1952 and then served 4 years in the US Navy as a sea bee. He worked for Santa Fe Railroad for forty two years, serving as local chairman for seventeen years. Dwayne married Arlena Pond in Mule Shoe on August 6, 1994.

Ironhead is survived by his wife Arlena Garner of Collinsville, son Ken Garner of Lewisville, son Kerry of Lindsay, sister Marilyn Christiansen of Gainesville, brother Bill Garner of Midlothian, sister Doris Richardson of Keller, seven grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Janice Garner, son Kyle Garner, and his parents.
