Lee Edna Searcy

Lee Edna Searcy, 75, went to be with the Lord, Saturday August 21, 2010.  Funeral services for Lee Edna will be 11:00 am, Wednesday August 25, 2010 at the Hillcrest Church of Christ in Gainesville with Rodney Smith of Welch Street Church of Christ, Wichita Falls, Texas officiating.  Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Geo J Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

Lee Edna was born in Gainesville Texas, January 9, 1935 to Leon and Edna Mae Dixon McFarland.  She was a member of the Martin Luther King Street Church of Christ, Gainesville, Texas.  Lee Edna attended Booker T Washington School in Gainesville, Texas and graduated in 1952.  She married Ellie "Bo" Searcy on August 26, 1958.  During that Union 3 children were born.  In 1984 she received her nursing license and was a full time License Vocational Nurse until she retired.

Through out her life, Lee Edna was a dedicated and loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend.

Lee Edna was preceded in death by her parents: Leon and Edna Mae McFarland; daughter: Phelan C Newberry; and sister: Bayla Y. Evans.

She is survived by her husband: Ellie "Bo" Searcy; two sons: Le Ellison and his wife Mary Searcy and Richard Neil and his wife Kristin Searcy; one daughter: Kelly Kathryn and her husband Carl Mims; one step-daughter: Joanie and her husband Huey Hudson; two nieces: Paula A. and her husband Robert Mathis and Shelly and her husband Kenneth Elder; grandchildren: Kyle Searcy, L.J. Searcy, Baylee Mims, Peyton Searcy, Landry Searcy, Cade Searcy, Kayla Searcy, Chutnie Searcy, Tyler Purvey, Brendan Searcy, Mack Cumby, Quentus Cumby and several great - grandchildren, great nieces, nephews, and friends.
