James Andrew Holloway went to be with our Lord, Wednesday, August 18th, 2010. Memorial service for Andrew will be held on Saturday August 21, 2010 at the First Methodist Church in Gainesville Tx. The Reverends Don Yeager and Brad Brittain officating. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday August20, 2010 at the Geo. J. Carroll and Son Funeral Home.
Andrew was born in Fort Worth, Texas, June 20th, 1986 to Kip and Gail Holloway. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Gainesville, Texas.
Andrew attended elementary in Gainesville and Keller ISD. He attended Fossil Ridge High School and graduated from All Saints Episcopal High School in Fort Worth.
Andrew participated in athletics both at Fossil Ridge High School and All Saints Episcopal School where he received numerous athletic awards. He continued his education at Hardin Simmons University in Abilene, Texas. He was a member of the of the HSU football team and graduated August, 2009. Andrew’s wishes for the HSU community is to “STAY PURPLE”
Andrew was preparing to serve his country as a soldier for the Army.
Andrew’s compassion to help others continued throughout his young life as he has been able to be a donor in Southwest Transplant Alliance both as a donor to recipients and to medical research.
Andrew was preceded in death by his grandparents: James Edgar Holloway & Ruby Evelyn Holloway, James E. Stephens & Anita Stephens Uptmoor and his uncle Rod Stephens.
Survivors: Andrew is survived by his parents Kip & Gail Holloway, his sister Shelby Holloway, aunt and uncle-Jerry Paul & Denise Welborn, Aunt Terri Stephens, cousins Jamie, Joey & Tricia Welborn, Jason E. Stephens, great aunts –Ann Norman Ronk, Ruth Holloway, great aunt & uncle-Robert & Ruth Holloway and their families, cousins Jennifer Comer, Jajuan Francis, Cassandra Francis as well as Annie & Bill Hodges, Greg & Rhonda Winslett, Mark & Cynthia Winslett, John & Chris Uptmoor and their children. There are many coaches and teammates that Andrew wishes to include as his family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First United Methodist Church, Hardin Simmons University, Southwest Transplant Alliance (www.organ.org) or a charity of choice.
Special THANKS to Dr. Gregg A. Shalan, and the entire team of specialists at Methodist Hospital of Dallas for their care of our son, Andrew.
