John Paul Mecca

Memorial services for John Paul Mecca, 51, of Gainesville are set for 3:00 PM, Saturday, April 11, 2009 at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.



Visitation is set for 6:30 to 7:30 PM on Friday, April 10, 2009 at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.



Mr. Mecca passed away April 8, 2009 after a lengthy illness.



Mr. Mecca was born September 29, 1957 in St. Mary’s, PA to Paul and Gertrude (Ehrensberger) Mecca.



Mr. Mecca was a very good heavy equipment operator for many years. He loved his family, friends and his dog Taz.



He is survived by his former wife, Alice Jones of Amarillo; his daughter and son in law, Amy and Randy Mason of Herford; their children, Chase and Kalynn; son and daughter in law, Paul John “PJ” and Maria Mecca of Gainesville; and their children, Faith, Aaron, and Raymond; daughter Amanda Mecca of Amarillo; son, Johnathan Mecca of Gainesville. He is survived by his sister and son in law, Harriet and Tim Bruce of Gainesville; his brother Henry Mecca of Gainesville. He is also survived by his nephews, Kevin, Josh, and David Devin, Donald and Casey Jones; his nieces, Rhonda Schatz, Glenda Elliott, and Terry Ann Jones.



Mr. Mecca was preceded in death by his parents.
