Don Ashton

Funeral Services For Donald "Don" Ashton, 84, of Lake Kiowa, are set for Friday February 19, 2010 at 1:00 pm at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Terry Engler officiating. No visitation is planned.

Mr. Ashton was born on August 17, 1925 in Drumright, Ok. to Elmer and Edna Lawmaster Ashton. He passed away Sunday February 14, 2010 at Denton Regional Hospital.

Don married Peggy Rudisell on June 3, 1946. He was a supervisor of American Oil and retired after 36 years. He was a thirty-second degree Mason, a member of the Shady Grove Methodist Church, and a veteran of WW II.

He is survived by his wife Peggy Ashton of Lake Kiowa, daughter and son in law Donna and John Chapman of Lake Kiowa, daughter and son in law Rhonda and Ken Engle of Friendswood, grandsons Kenny Engle of Spring and Matthew Engle of Pearland, and a great grandson Brandon Engle of Euless. He is also survived by brother and sister in law John and Sue Ashton of Plano, sister and brother in law Jody and Charles Dell of Cleveland, Ok, sister in law June Ashton of Wagner, Ok, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Edna Ashton, grand parents Donald Ashton, Eva Ashton Smith Blanchard, and Millie and Jesse Lawmaster, and a brother Warren Ashton.
