Our beloved Alan Govea, age 18, passed away tragically on October 10, 2021. Alan was born in Gainesville, Texas on May 3, 2003, the second son of Saul Govea and Raquel Perez. Most recently, he was employed by Panda Express in Thackerville, OK. He graduated in May of 2021 from Gainesville High School, and enjoyed spending time with his family and with his many friends. Alan lived a life that had the normal difficulties of any teenager. He searched for what was right in the world and did not like seeing others pushed around and always protected the meek.
Alan had an artistic part of himself that he did not show the world. He played the tuba in high school, he had an affinity for drawing, and he liked taking care of and riding horses. Alan was the type of young person that was learning how he fit into the world and left his family too soon.
Up until recently, he spent his summers in Mexico with his maternal grandmother. He loved the ranch and the people that lived there. He enjoyed being able to live in two cultures and the humility of the people from the ranch helped him stay connected to his roots. He will always be remembered as a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend.
Alan was preceded in death by his brother Angel Gabriel Govea, his paternal grandparents Adolfo Govea and Maria del Carmen Vazquez, his paternal uncle Rigoberto Govea, and his maternal aunt Ma del Carmen Perez Hernandez.
Alan is survived by his father Saul Govea, his mother Raquel Perez, his two siblings Daniel Govea and Saul Govea Jr., paternal great-grandmother Felicitas Rodriguez Barron, maternal grandparents Tomas Perez Rodriguez and Isidra Hernandez Saenz, and many uncles, aunts, and cousins.
